Kisha nikainua macho yangu, nikaona, na tazama, mtu mwenye kamba ya kupimia mkononi mwake.
Then I lifted up my eyes and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.

Ndipo nikasema, Unakwenda wapi? Akaniambia, Ninakwenda kuupima Yerusalemu, nione upana wake ulivyo na urefu wake ulivyo.
“Where are you going?” I asked. “To measure Jerusalem,” he replied, “and to determine its width and length.”

Na tazama, yule malaika aliyesema nami akasimama karibu, na malaika mwingine akatoka ili kuonana naye;
Then the angel who was speaking with me went forth, and another angel came forward to meet him

naye akamwambia, Piga mbio, kamwambie kijana huyu, na kusema, Yerusalemu utakaliwa na watu, kama vijiji visivyo na kuta, kwa sababu ya wingi wa watu na mifugo iliyomo ndani yake.
and said to him, “Run and tell that young man: ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the multitude of men and livestock within it.

Kwa maana mimi, asema Bwana, nitakuwa ukuta wa moto kuuzunguka pande zote, nami nitakuwa huo utukufu ndani yake.
For I will be a wall of fire around it, declares the LORD, and I will be the glory within it.’”

Haya! Haya! Ikimbieni nchi ya kaskazini, asema Bwana; kwa maana mimi nimewatawanya ninyi kama pepo nne za mbinguni, asema Bwana.
“Get up! Get up! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the LORD, “for I have scattered you like the four winds of heaven,” declares the LORD.

Haya! Ee Sayuni, jiponye, wewe ukaaye pamoja na binti Babeli.
“Get up, O Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the Daughter of Babylon!”

Kwa maana Bwana wa majeshi asema hivi, Ili nitafute utukufu amenituma kwa mataifa wale waliowateka ninyi; maana yeye awagusaye ninyi aigusa mboni ya jicho lake.
For this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “After His Glory has sent Me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye—

Kwa maana, tazama, nitatikisa mkono wangu juu yao, nao watakuwa mateka ya hao waliowatumikia; nanyi mtajua ya kuwa Bwana wa majeshi amenituma.
I will surely wave My hand over them, so that they will become plunder for their own servants. Then you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me.”

Imba, ufurahi, Ee binti Sayuni; maana, tazama, ninakuja, nami nitakaa kati yako, asema Bwana.
“Shout for joy and be glad, O Daughter of Zion, for I am coming to dwell among you,” declares the LORD.

Na mataifa mengi watajiunga na Bwana katika siku ile, nao watakuwa watu wangu; nami nitakaa kati yako, nawe utajua ya kuwa Bwana wa majeshi amenituma kwako.
“On that day many nations will join themselves to the LORD, and they will become My people. I will dwell among you, and you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me to you.

Na Bwana atairithi Yuda, iwe sehemu yake katika nchi takatifu, naye atachagua Yerusalemu tena.
And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His portion in the Holy Land, and He will once again choose Jerusalem.

Nyamazeni, ninyi nyote wenye mwili, mbele za Bwana; kwa maana ameamka, na kutoka katika maskani yake takatifu.
Be silent before the LORD, all people, for He has roused Himself from His holy dwelling.”
