Lyrics
Never going back, never going back,
Never going back to the way it was...
[Repeat as needed, worship leader ad lib.]
I won't go back, can't go back
To the way it used to be
For your presence came and changed me.
[Repeat as needed, worship leader ad lib.]
Never going back, never going back,
Never going back to the way it was...
[Repeat as needed]
I won't go back, can't go back
To the way it used to be
For your presence came and changed me.
[Repeat as needed]

Meaning & Inspiration
Never Going Back (I Won’t Go Back Reprise) is a compact declaration of spiritual change. Its repeated phrases contrast a former way of life with the transforming presence of God. Rather than describing the past in detail, the lyric concentrates on a settled response: the old condition no longer defines the worshiper, and returning to it is not presented as an option. The repetition gives the song the character of a communal confession and sustained prayer.
The theme is consistent with passages that describe life in Christ as something made new. Second Corinthians 5:17 speaks of the old passing away and new life arriving, while Philippians 3:13–14 portrays faithful progress without remaining bound to what lies behind. The lyric does not explain every aspect of that change, but it clearly attributes transformation to God’s presence. Its short refrain therefore carries both gratitude and resolve, joining an experience of divine renewal with a commitment to continue forward.
