Lyrics

Chorus (Chant)

As we pray in one accord
The power of the Holy Ghost is here
To break every yoke
As we pray in one accord
The power of the Holy Ghost is here
To set captives free

Chant (The Name of Jesus)

Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
Your name breaks yokes
Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
Your name breaks yokes
Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
Your name breaks yokes
Jesus

Spoken Word

"Listen to me, every time we pray, God is there. God is not far from us, a lot of the time we are the ones far from God. God is always near, His name is Emmanuel; God with us. Sometimes you feel like He’s far, actually, He’s not, He’s near. You just need to rearrange your mind, your spirit, tune your mind to be conscious of Him. He is here!
Enough of being conscious of the world than God. Scripture says we live in this world but we are not of this world. We need to be conscious of the world we belong to. The world we belong to is supernatural! We can live here, but be very aware and conscious of where we truly live. We are seated with Christ! Where we truly live!"

Scripture Reading (Psalm 24)

"Lift up your heads, O ye gates;
And be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors;
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates;
Even lift them up, ye everlasting doors;
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory!"

Spoken Word (Conclusion)

"So when you activate the Lord, everything has no choice. The gates must be lifted! The doors must be opened! They cannot refuse His command. He’s not just the Lord of one host, He is the Lord of HOSTS! And guess what? He is your Lord. Is He your Lord? Is He your Lord? Is He your Lord? Then because of this, we pray!"
Jesus is Lord!
Hallelujah!

Meaning & Inspiration

“As We Pray” by Victoria Orenze is a live prayer moment that begins with a chant. The repeated words say that as people pray in one accord, the power of the Holy Ghost is present to break every yoke and set captives free. That is close to Acts 1:14 and 4:31, where believers prayed together and the place was shaken, and to Isaiah 61:1 on liberty for captives.

A second chant repeats the name of Jesus, adding that His name breaks yokes. A spoken exhortation follows, reminding listeners that God is near, that He is called Emmanuel, and that believers live in the world but are not of it.

The central reading is Psalm 24, with the call to lift up the gates and everlasting doors so the King of glory may come in, and the answer that He is the Lord of hosts. The closing words ask whether He is the listener’s Lord and end with “Jesus is Lord” and “Hallelujah.” The recording serves as a guide for congregational prayer.
