Lyrics

Chorus
This is Your house
Father come in prayer
This is Your house
A holy house of prayer
Where the lost and the lonely
Bring their burdens and their cares
This is Your house
This is Your house
Come in prayer
(repeat)

We dedicate this temple
To You Lord
Let Your glory fill
This sanctuary
Be enthroned on the praises
Of your people
Lord we agree in unity

Chorus

Holy Spirit overflow
In this place
Decorate our walls
With grace and mercy
Let healing and redemption
Finds searching souls
Lord have Your way
We offer praise

Chorus (2x)

This is Your House
This is Your House

Meaning & Inspiration

“This Is Your House” treats the gathered church as a place dedicated to God’s presence, prayer, praise, mercy, and restoration. The chorus names it a holy house of prayer where burdened, lonely, and lost people may come. The verses then ask the Father to fill the sanctuary with glory and the Holy Spirit to overflow in the place. Grace, healing, redemption, unity, and praise are presented as marks of a congregation yielded to God.

The central image closely echoes Isaiah 56:7, where God calls his house a house of prayer. The request for divine glory to fill the sanctuary also recalls the dedication of Solomon’s temple in 2 Chronicles 7:1, when the glory of the Lord filled the building. Ephesians 2:22 adds a New Testament connection by describing believers together as a dwelling place for God through the Spirit. These passages illuminate the song’s emphasis on corporate worship: the building is dedicated to God, but the praying and praising people form the worshiping community within it.
