Meaning & Inspiration
I Am What You See is a prayer to see oneself through God's eyes. The opening asks for help to see the way He sees, noting that the singer sees pain where He sees victory and sees the present where He sees what will be. The refrain asks for open eyes and belief that the singer is what He sees.
The second part lists how He sees the singer: victorious, faithful, believing, rejoicing and a survivor. Later lines declare "I am healed, I am free," and the chorus repeats that identity many times. The theme matches 2 Corinthians 5:7, Ephesians 1:18 on enlightened eyes, Romans 8:37 and Isaiah 53:5 on healing. The strong repetition turns the prayer into a declaration for a congregation.
