Lyrics
Inspired by His love
(Inspiration) Inspire us to think a little higher
(Inspiration) Believe and dream beyond here
(Inspiration) Ignite a fire burnin in our hearts
(Inspiration) Lord will You play a greater part
(Inspiration) Help us to achieve our greatest hour
(Inspiration) When we are feeling Your power
(Inspiration) I know we'll move beyond despair
(Inspiration) When You can inspire us from anywhere
Chorus 1:
What the world needs now (What the world needs now) is love (love), sweet love (love, ooh)
Think of the things that we could do (Think of the things that we could do if we)
Inspired by His love (if we, if we were inspired)
(Motivation) We need a boost, we need a jump start
(Motivation) We need a hero
(Motivation) That's the kind of motivation only You can give
(Motivation) Help us to look up and to live
(Motivation) I believed You cause my momma told me so
(Motivation) I would follow even when Your Word I did not know
(Motivation) I'm so glad Your Spirit I have known
(Motivation) You gave me faith of my own
Chorus 2:
What the world needs now (What the world needs now) is love, sweet love (is love)
Think of the things (won't you) that we could do (pay attention)
Inspired by His love (oh, oh, oh)
(Celebration) Raise your head, raise your heart
(Celebration) Time to give the Lord another start
(Celebration) You don't have to hold your head down anymore
(Celebration) Happiness and joy is yours for sure
(Celebration) It's a party not a pain to merely just survive
(Celebration) Cause we're celebrating God's alive
(Celebration) Tell the world you got a better friend
(Celebration) And He's coming back for us again
Chorus 3:
What the world needs now (What the world, what we really, really need) (is love) is love (love), sweet love
Think of the things (think about the things) that we could do (if we were inspired to)
Inspired by His love (I got to tell the world about it, Hey)
Inspiration (I've been inspired), motivation (hey to move)
It's a celebration (who I've got to celebrate) across the nation (I, I, I, I, I)
Inspiration (got a fire ignited in me), motivation (motivated so that I can see)
It's a celebration (all across the nation there's a party going on) across the nation (God is alive)

Meaning & Inspiration
“Inspiration” develops three connected responses to God’s love: inspiration, motivation, and celebration. The lyric asks the Lord to lift thought beyond despair, kindle spiritual fire, and supply strength for faithful living. Its refrain identifies love as the world’s need, while the surrounding verses locate that love in God’s action and presence rather than in vague optimism.
The second movement describes faith becoming personal through the work of the Spirit and knowledge of God’s word. The final movement then turns inward renewal toward public joy, declaring that God is alive and that Christ will return. This progression gives the song a clear shape: divine love awakens hope, hope encourages action, and action becomes praise and witness. Its emphasis broadly reflects Paul’s prayer that believers might grasp Christ’s love and be strengthened inwardly, while its closing expectation aligns with the Christian hope of Christ’s return.
