“Beautiful Day” by Jermaine Edwards is a gratitude song that starts with an ordinary morning. The singer wakes, notes that many people did not see this day, and chooses humility, knowing a person can fall tomorrow. In everything, he says, he gives the Lord praise.
The chorus thanks God for sunshine and rain, joy and pain, then repeats “It’s a beautiful day.” It adds a short appeal not to fuss and fight because there is one life to make right. The second verse takes up trouble, quoting the valley of the shadow of death from Psalm 23:4 and saying disappointment brings a lesson and will improve in the end.
