Once upon a dusty road there walked a man,
Sorrow was all He owned.
But his humble life and death brought,
Greatest change this world has known.
Before He was born,
He set the world in place.
Hung the stars out in the sky.
Before He talked of sparrows that might fall,
He first gave them wings to fly.
This could be no ordinary man,
This Jesus.
Author and servant of God's plan,
This Jesus.
For the Creator, became the creation,
Son of God, Son of Man.
The Saviour of the world was cut down in his prime,
Buried under all our shame.
Knowing as He bore that fatal guilt,
Someday we would praise His name.
Before His hands were scarred,
He made the hands that held,
The very spear that pierced His own side.
Sometime back, before the stones were made,
He chose the one he'd roll aside.
Oh this could be no ordinary man,
This Jesus.
Author and servant of God's plan,
This Jesus.
For the Creator, became the Creation,
Son of God, Son of Man.
So praise our Creator,
Who became our Saviour,
Son of God, Son of Man.
