Lyrics
Maisha yangu nayatoa kwako maisha yangu nayatoa kwako

Meaning & Inspiration
“Nguvu Ya Msalaba” celebrates salvation through the cross of Christ. The lyric describes cleansing, redemption, safety, and healing through the blood of Jesus, presenting the sacrifice as God’s own provision for a person in need. Its repeated refrain gives the cross a central place in the singer’s confidence, while the verses move from rescue out of fear and sorrow toward gratitude, praise, and a life offered back to God.
The reference to healing through Christ’s wounds clearly echoes Isaiah 53:5, where the suffering servant bears sin and brings peace and healing. The language of being redeemed at a cost also aligns with 1 Peter 1:18–19, which speaks of redemption through the precious blood of Christ. In the song, these themes produce assurance rather than self-reliance. Singing, walking, and praising become responses to salvation, and the recurring words about the cross keep gratitude anchored in what Christ has done.
