Meaning & Inspiration
“I Live for Jesus” by Elijah Oyelade is a worship song built on the words of Galatians 2:20. The chorus states, “I live for Jesus, I am not my own, Christ lives in me,” and adds that in everything done and everywhere gone, Jesus must be glorified.
The verse quotes the apostle’s language of being crucified with Christ, dead and buried with Him, and risen with Him. It adds “Got Zoe, the life of God,” using the Greek word for life, and it quotes the idea of God at work in the believer to will and to do His pleasure. The singer calls himself a vessel.
