David Forlu - African Medley Lyrics

“African Medley” by David Forlu is a praise medley that moves from declarations of God’s greatness into repeated hallelujah refrains, call-and-dance lines, and a closing cry to Yahweh. It opens with “You’re the mighty God, the great I am,” which recalls the divine name given in Exodus 3:14, and answers with “Hallelujah” sung three times.

The middle of the medley is built from short chants in African languages, including “Bata musoro bata musana,” “Tenderera tenderera,” and “Uko uko uko.” These work as call-and-response lines for a gathered crowd, and they sit between two rounds of “Glory be to our God, Hallelujah” repeated four times.

The ending turns to “Eeeh Yahweh,” repeated and extended with “kumama,” a closing address to the name of God. The structure is close to the heavenly praise of Revelation 19:1 and to Psalm 150:6, where everything that has breath is told to praise the Lord. The recording is communal and celebratory, driven by repetition rather than story.
