Lyrics

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh oh oh

You took up Your cross, gave it all for us, so that we might know grace
You gave up Your crown, an act so profound, we'll never be the same
We'll never be the same

All that we are for Your glory
All that we are for Your Name Jesus
All that we are for Your glory
We praise You, we praise You

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

The fight is now over, war has been won, the power of Your Name
Jesus the Christ has made us alive, we'll never be the same
We'll never be the same

All that we are for Your glory
All that we are for Your Name Jesus
All that we are for Your glory
We praise You, we praise You
x2

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh oh, oh, oh

What a sacrifice, that You laid down Your life
To save a sinner's heart like mine
I surrender all, all to You my God
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah to Your Name

All that we are for Your glory
All that we are for Your Name Jesus
All that we are for Your glory
We praise You, we praise You
x2

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Meaning & Inspiration

“All That We Are” responds to the cross with complete devotion and praise. The opening verse presents Christ laying aside his crown and accepting the cross so that grace could be known. The chorus answers that gift by offering every part of life for the glory and name of Jesus. Rather than treating worship as words alone, the song frames praise as surrender of the whole self.

Its second verse celebrates victory and new life through Jesus Christ, while the bridge returns to the personal cost of salvation: Christ lays down his life to save a sinner. Philippians 2:6-11 closely parallels the movement from Christ’s self-emptying obedience to the exaltation of his name. Romans 6:4 also supports the lyric’s declaration that Christ has made believers alive, describing new life through participation in his death and resurrection. The repeated hallelujah and final chorus therefore serve as a sustained response to sacrifice, grace, victory, and renewed life.
