"As we sing this again let it be a declaration over you, over your family, over your churches, over this nation ultimately.
And our prayer is that God will be the head, he will be the center of His church again. That every wall would be torn down, there would be no more division, no more strife. Amen?
Can we believe that tonight?
Can we just lift our hands?
Father that's our cry, that you would make us one, that you would unify us through your spirit, that you'd be glorified again through your body."

Make us one
Let your kingdom come
Make us one
Make us one

Meaning & Inspiration

Make Us One is a prayer for unity in the church. The first verse declares oneness with the Father, the Spirit and the Son, and with sisters and brothers as one family by the blood. The chorus simply asks God to make His people one, and the second verse asks for one heart with heaven, one mind and one body, bound together forever so that Jesus is glorified.

The bridge confesses offenses, fear and pride, prays for hurt to be washed away, for healing of the land from wars and violence, and for the family to be restored. A spoken section prays for every wall to be torn down and division to end. The themes follow John 17:20-23, Ephesians 4:3-6, Psalm 133:1 and 2 Chronicles 7:14. The repeated plea and spoken prayer make it suitable for corporate prayer and unity gatherings.
