Lyrics
Verse 1
Yo muy mala fui y no me importó
vivir para mí y sólo por mí.
Fui egoísta mas desesperada y necesitada...
Chorus
No soy igual;
no, no, no, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Cristo me ha cambiado;
no soy igual.
Verse 2
¡U-u-uhh!
He, he, he, hey! Huuh!

No soy igual; no, no, no, yeah
Cristo me ha cambiado no soy igual...

Meaning & Inspiration
No Soy Igual is a Spanish-language testimony song about being changed by Christ. The opening verse looks back on a life lived badly and only for self, being selfish, desperate and needy, and then the chorus announces that Christ has changed the singer and that the singer is no longer the same. The repeated phrase "no soy igual" means "I am not the same."
The second verse says that everything the singer is now is because of Him, that the singer wants to offer all of the work to Him, believes the saving truth, and has been renewed because He carried sin away. His peace was given and doubts were removed, and the singer stands firm in Him. The bridge says the past and all that the singer wanted to be has changed, and that all debt is owed to Him. The themes follow 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 2:20 and 1 Peter 2:24. The upbeat, repeated chorus gives the song a joyful, grateful tone.
