Lyrics
My past embraced
My sin forgiven
I'm blameless in Your sight
My history rewritten
My past embraced
My sin forgiven
I'm blameless in Your sight
My history rewritten
'Cause You delight in showing mercy
And mercy triumphs over judgment
I know that You delight in showing mercy
And mercy triumphs over judgment
Oh love, great love
Fear cannot be found in You
There will never be a day
That You're uncertain of the ones You choose, yeah
'Cause You delight in showing mercy
And mercy triumphs over judgment
I know that You delight in showing mercy
And mercy triumphs over judgment
Yes, You delight in showing mercy
And mercy triumphs over judgment
It's new every morning
So I will wake and spend my days
Loving the One who has raised me up
From death to life, from wrong to right
You're making all things beautiful
Yes, I will wake and spend my days
Loving the One who has raised me up
From death to life, from wrong to right
You're making all things beautiful
I will wake and spend my days
Loving the One who has raised me up
From death to life, from wrong to right
You're making all things beautiful
Yes, I will wake and spend my days
Loving the One who has raised me up
From death to life, from wrong to right
You're making all things beautiful
You're making all things beautiful
You're making all things beautiful
You're making all things beautiful
'Cause You delight in showing mercy
Mercy triumphs over judgment
You delight in showing mercy
Mercy triumphs over judgment
I know that You delight in showing mercy
And mercy triumphs over judgment
I know that You delight in showing mercy
And mercy triumphs over judgment

Meaning & Inspiration
Mercy centers on the assurance that failure does not have the final word before God. Images of a forgiven past, a rewritten history, and movement from death to life present mercy as restoration rather than mere relief from punishment. The repeated declaration that mercy triumphs over judgment closely echoes the language of James and gives the song a clear biblical anchor. Its reference to mercy being new every morning also recalls the hope expressed in Lamentations.
The later lines turn that assurance into devotion. Being raised from wrong to right leads to days spent loving God, while fear is displaced by confidence in divine faithfulness. Repetition strengthens the contrast between an old identity marked by sin and a new identity described as blameless and made beautiful. The song therefore joins confession, gratitude, and worship, presenting mercy as the basis for a changed life and sustained praise.
