Meaning & Inspiration
“He Is Here” by Ada Ehi is a worship declaration of God’s presence. The chorus says, “He is here… Messiah is here… the healer is here,” and the verse adds that the time has come and there is a witness in the room. The pre-chorus speaks of a shifting in the atmosphere, a “Holy Ghost atmosphere,” as the sign that the Lord is among His people.
The post-chorus turns to the soul: “Oh my soul, rejoice, your King is God and God is here.” The bridge describes an appointment with the King where anything is possible, with angel armies rushing in and chains crashing. A long list of names follows: conqueror, mighty God, Messiah, great physician, champion, the resurrection and the life, and Lord of hosts.
The titles are close to Isaiah 9:6, John 11:25 and Psalm 24:8, while the promise of presence echoes Matthew 18:20. The song is built so a congregation can answer each name with “the Lord is here.”
