Meaning & Inspiration
“Cooling Water” by The Williams Brothers is a testimony of rescue told through the image of a refreshing drink. The singer’s soul was sinking in a world of sin until grace and mercy took the singer in, lifting the feet out of the miry clay and placing them on a rock, wording close to Psalm 40:2. God broke the chains and set the singer free, and the relief felt like cooling water from grandma’s well.
