Lyrics

Mungu, Elshadai wetu, matendo yako makuu,

umetukamilisha twajivunia (mifulizo) ya baraka zako.

Twala, twanywa, twalala, twaamka,

uaminifu wako kwetu mkuu,

Hitaji letu tunalo

baraka zako zafululiza twashukuru kwazo.

  1. Hannah alibezwa kwa kukosa mtoto,

hakukataa tamaa, aliomba, wakati wa Mungu ulipofika

Samweli kazaliwa baraka nyumbani mwake.

  1. Waangalieni Ndege wa angani, hawapandi wala hawavuni,

hawakusanyi ghalani, ila Baba wa mbinguni huwalisha hao.

Twala, twanywa, twalala, twaamka, uaminifu wako kwetu mkuu,

Hitaji letu tunalo baraka zako zafululiza twashukuru kwazo.

Wengine walala hoi nawe wala na kusaaza wahitaji nini?

Mbona walilia cheo wengine hawana kazi, wahitaji nini?

Wengine wamelazwa na wewe una afya.. Mshukuru Mungu..

Hesabu mibaraka moja moja, aogeleavyo papa baharini,

Mwanga wa jua hung'aa kote mvua ya masika hutunyea ilivyo baraka zake.

Ilivyo nyota angani ndivyo baraka zake, Utukuzwe Mungu.

Mungu, Elshadai wetu, matendo yako makuu,

umetukamilisha twajivunia (mifulizo) ya baraka

Meaning & Inspiration

“Mifulizo Ya Baraka” is a Swahili song of gratitude that recognizes God’s provision in ordinary life as well as in biblical accounts. Food, sleep, waking, health, work, sunlight, rain, and answered prayer are all presented as reasons to thank God. The reference to Hannah recalls persistent prayer before Samuel’s birth, while the image of birds being fed by the heavenly Father closely follows the teaching of Jesus about freedom from anxious striving.

The song urges careful attention to blessings that can easily be overlooked. Its comparisons to stars in the sky, fish in the sea, and widespread light portray divine generosity as abundant and continuing. At the same time, references to illness, unemployment, and unmet desires keep the gratitude grounded in unequal human circumstances rather than denying hardship. Praise rises from noticing daily mercy and God’s faithfulness. The repeated thanksgiving therefore suits a praise setting, with biblical examples supporting its call to count each blessing and glorify God.
