Lyrics
There's a place that I return to
When the world turns upside down
All I have to do is listen
To those sweet old gospel sounds
And the words sound so familiar
Like some long-forgotten friend
When I sing old hymns
"Shall we gather at the river"
Puts a smile back on my face
And my burdens all are lifted
When I hear "Amazing Grace"
Gathered 'round an old piano
Let the memories rush in
When I sing old hymns
We seem so sophisticated
In these modern times we live
We forget the simple comfort
"Keep me near the cross" can give
Just a line of "Rock of Ages"
Lets me hide in Thee again
When I sing old hymns
"Shall we gather at the river"
Puts a smile back on my face
And my burdens all are lifted
When I hear, "Amazing Grace"
Gathered 'round the old piano
Let the memories rush in
When I sing old hymns
Gathered 'round the old piano
Let the memories rush in
When I sing old hymns
When I sing old hymns
