Meaning & Inspiration
This medley brings the Nativity carol into direct worship. The opening verses retell the quiet wonder of the birth of Christ: the mother and child, the shepherds, the heavenly host, and the announcement that the Savior has come. Its language of peace, light, and redeeming grace keeps the focus on the identity and work of Jesus.
The later refrains shift from the Bethlehem scene to a congregational declaration of love. Repeated lines about affection and devotion being poured out at the feet of Jesus express adoration as an offering. The closing declaration, “Jesus we love you,” makes that response the central theme. Together, the two songs connect the child born at Bethlehem with the worship of Christ as Savior and Lord, moving naturally from the angelic proclamation of His birth to a sustained expression of reverence, gratitude, and love.
