Lyrics
Come, Holy Spirit
Fall on us
Burn like a fire
Living flame of love
Come, Holy Spirit
Fall on us
Burn like a fire
Living flame of love
We're on our knees, holy God
Show us Your glory, oh God
We're on our knees, crying for Heaven to come to Earth
Come, Holy Spirit
Fall on us
Burn like a fire
Living flame of love
Father God, Your will be done
Christ in us, Your kingdom come
Spirit lead us now as one
Set Your Church on fire again
Father God, Your will be done
Christ in us, Your kingdom come
Spirit lead us now as one
Set Your Church on fire again
Father God, Your will be done
Christ in us, Your kingdom come
Spirit lead us now as one
Set Your Church on fire again
Father God, Your will be done
Christ in us, Your kingdom come
Spirit lead us now as one
Set Your Church on fire again
Come, Holy Spirit
Fall on us
Burn like a fire
Living flame of love
Come, Holy Spirit
Fall on us
Burn like a fire
Living flame of love
Living flame of love
Living flame of love
Living flame of love
Come, Holy Spirit
Fall on us
Burn like a fire
Living flame of love
Come, Holy Spirit
Fall on us
Burn like a fire
Living flame of love
Father God, Your will be done
Christ in us, Your kingdom come
Spirit lead us now as one
Set Your Church on fire again
Father God, Your will be done
Christ in us, Your kingdom come
Spirit lead us now as one
Set Your Church on fire again
Father God, Your will be done
Christ in us, Your kingdom come
Spirit lead us now as one
Set Your Church on fire again
Come, Holy Spirit
Fall on us
Burn like a fire

Meaning & Inspiration
“Come Holy Spirit” is a direct prayer for God’s presence to renew the church. Its recurring image of a living flame joins longing, surrender, and expectation: the singers kneel before God, ask to see divine glory, and call for heaven’s rule to become visible on earth. Repetition gives the song the character of a congregational petition rather than a detailed narrative.
The later lines broaden that prayer from personal encounter to shared mission. The Father’s will, Christ’s indwelling life, the Spirit’s leading, and the unity of the church are placed together as signs of God’s kingdom. The language of fire recalls biblical accounts in which the Holy Spirit empowers God’s people, while the request for God’s will to be done closely echoes the Lord’s Prayer. Throughout the lyric, spiritual renewal is presented as God’s work: the church waits, asks, and depends upon the Spirit to lead it as one body.
