Oh let my life give praise
I worship You (3x)

Meaning & Inspiration
Lionel Petersen’s “I Love You Lord” is a devotional worship song built on three repeated declarations: love, worship, and surrender. The chorus says “I love You, Lord,” greater than anything and more than the heart can sing, and then adds “more than I love myself,” which puts devotion to God first.
The verses move through the actions of worship. The singer worships “in spirit and in truth,” a phrase from John 4:24, and calls on others to worship the King of kings. The next verse lifts hands and says, “I am a sacrifice,” with body and soul offered, an image close to Romans 12:1. The last verse breaks into Hallelujah as a song of praise for all the singer’s days.
The live setting shows in the spoken lines placed between sung phrases. The song has little narrative, but it gives a clear pattern for personal worship, moving from love to praise to the offering of the whole self.
