Lyrics
Time after time
Season after season
At my highest highs
In my lowest lows
You’ve always been there
‘Cause You’re the faithful one
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
You’re the faithful one
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
You’re the faithful one
Time after time
Season after season
In my darkest nights
In my loudest storms
You’ve always been there
‘Cause You’re the faithful one
When my faith is failing
You are faithful
And when my strength is fai
ling
You’re still able
You’re the faithful one

Meaning & Inspiration
“Faithful One” rests on the contrast between changing human circumstances and God’s unchanging reliability. High points, low points, dark nights, and loud storms cover a broad range of experience, yet each setting receives the same answer: God has always been present. The recurring title turns that testimony into worship, identifying faithfulness as part of who God is rather than merely a response to favorable conditions.
The later lines sharpen the contrast by admitting that personal faith and strength can fail. God, however, remains faithful and able. That confession closely reflects 2 Timothy 2:13, which says that even when people are faithless, God remains faithful. The song’s movement through repeated times and changing conditions also fits the assurance in Lamentations that divine mercies are new each morning and that the Lord’s faithfulness is great. Its simple repetition gives emphasis to a steady claim: weakness, darkness, and turmoil do not cancel God’s presence or his dependable character.
