Your voice it thunders
The oaks start twisting
The forest sounds with cedars breaking
The waters see You and start their writhing
From the depths a song is rising

Now it's rising from the ground

Holy, Holy
Holy, Holy Lord the earth is Yours and singing
Holy, Holy
Holy, Holy Lord
The earth is Yours
The earth is Yours

The ground is shaking
The mighty mountains now are trembling
Creation sees You
And starts composing
The fields and trees they start rejoicing.

Now it's rising from the ground

Now it's rising from the ground
It's rising from the ground
Hear us crying out
Hear us crying out

Meaning & Inspiration
The Earth Is Yours imagines creation responding to the voice of God. The verses describe His voice thundering, oaks twisting, cedars breaking, waters writhing and mountains trembling, and then creation composing a song and the fields and trees rejoicing. A line repeated between sections says that the song is now rising from the ground.
The chorus sings "Holy, Holy" and declares that the earth belongs to Him and is singing. The imagery is drawn from Psalm 29, where the voice of the Lord breaks the cedars and shakes the wilderness, from Psalm 24:1 on the earth being the Lord's, and from Isaiah 6:3 on the holy cry. The closing request to hear the crying out turns the creation picture into a prayer. The song's slow build and nature imagery make it suited to reflective worship.
