Meaning & Inspiration
“Wewe ni Baba” is a Swahili worship song by Essence of Worship, with Gladness Siyame leading the closing section. The verse praises God as exalted above all the mountains of the earth, and says His great and wonderful works inspire awe. The question “Yatisha kama nini,” roughly “how awesome they are,” carries the sense of wonder.
The chorus repeats “Wewe ni Baba” (You are Father) and “Wewe ni Mungu” (You are God). Pairing the two names joins reverence with closeness: the God who is lifted high above the mountains is also addressed as Father. In the bridge, the lead calls out “Pokea sifa utukufu wote Baba,” asking the Father to receive all praise and glory.
