Lyrics
First things first
You are not another option
Take your place
You're my treasure and my priority
You will always be my number one
I will never place before you another
You will always be
You will always be
You will always be my number one
First things first
You are not another option
Take your place
You're my treasure and my priority
You will always be my number one
I will never place before you another
You will always be
You will always be
You will always be my number one
First things first
You are not another option
Take your place
You're my treasure and my priority
You will always be my number one
I will never place before you another
You will always be
You will always be
You will always be my number one
I remove every idol
Break them before you
You're my king
You're my only king
I remove every idol
Break them before you
You're my king
You're my only king
I remove every idol
Break them before you
You're my king
You're my only king
I remove every idol
Break them before you
You're my king
You're my only king
You will always be my number one
I will never place before you another
You will always be
You will always be
You will always be my number one
I remove every idol
Break them before you
You're my king
You're my only king
I remove every idol
Break them before you
You're my king
You're my only king
I remove every idol
Break them before you
You're my king
You're my only king
I remove every idol
Break them before you
You're my king
You're my only king
You will always be my number one
I will never place before you another
You will always be
You will always be
You will always be my number one
First things first
You are not another option
Take your place
You're my treasure and my priority
You will always be my number one
I will never place before you another
You will always be
You will always be
You will always be my number one
What more could I ask for
What more could I want for
What more could I long for
Than your everything
What more could I ask for
What more could I want for
What more could I long for
Than your everything
What more could I ask for
What more could I want for
What more could I long for
When you are everything
What more could I ask for
What more could I want for
What more could I long for
When you are everything
I found everything
I have everything
When you are everything
You will always be
You will always be
You will always be my number one
First things first
You are not another option
Take your place
You're my treasure and my priority
You will always be my number one
I will never place before you another
You will always be
You will always be
You will always be my number one

Meaning & Inspiration
God occupies the first place in “Number One,” and the repeated confession treats that place as a settled priority rather than a passing feeling. The language of treasure, kingship, and everything presents worship as undivided allegiance. The refusal to place another before God clearly echoes the command not to have other gods before Him.
The lines about removing every idol give the song a strong theme of repentance and surrender. God is addressed as “my only king,” while the final questions declare that nothing else can satisfy the worshipper’s longing. Together, these ideas describe a faith that prefers God above competing desires and recognizes Him as the source of all that is truly needed. The repetition serves the song’s central pledge: God is not one option among many, but the unrivaled ruler and treasure of a life reordered around His presence.
