"God, Can You Hear Me?" opens with language close to Psalm 130, crying out from the depths and asking God to be attentive to a voice on the verge of breaking. Dax lays out a private battle with addiction and depression, admitting he bottles up pain rather than let it show, and describing himself as at war with who he has become. The recurring title question functions less as doubt than as desperation, repeated until it becomes a scream.
The tone then shifts from confession toward surrender. Lines about bowing down and giving everything echo Scripture's language on repentance, while references to blood and broken bones recall the wounds Christ carried for others, framed as the only source of healing available.
