Meaning & Inspiration
“Nagode” is a live thanksgiving song by David Dam with Dunsin Oyekan. The Hausa word means “thank you.” The verse thanks God for being faithful, more than just faithful, from the cradle until this hour, and trusts that He will be present until the end. The chorus mixes Hausa and English, naming God as sovereign, thanking Him and calling Jesus King of all the earth.
Between the sung parts the leaders speak to the room. They ask the grateful to lift their hands, remember how God saved them, and take a minute to thank Him for what He has done. One spoken section says that what the enemy meant for evil, God has turned around for good. The verse mentions Alpha and Omega and raising an Ebenezer.
