Lyrics
Verse 1
I've got a river of living water
A fountain that never will run dry
It's an open heaven You're releasing
And we will never be denied
Chorus
'Cause we're stirring up deep-deep wells,
We're stirring up deep-deep waters
We're gonna dance in the river, dance in the river
'Cause we're stirring up deep-deep wells,
We're stirring up deep-deep waters
We're gonna jump in the river, jump in the river
Refrain (x2)
Deep cries out, deep cries out to You
Deep cries out, deep cries out to You
We cry out, we cry out to You, Jesus
Verse 1 (Repeat)
I've got a river of living water
A fountain that never will run dry
It's an open heaven You're releasing
And we will never be denied
Chorus (Repeat)
'Cause we're stirring up deep-deep wells
We're stirring up deep-deep waters
We're gonna dance in the river, dance in the river
'Cause we're stirring up deep-deep wells
We're stirring up deep-deep waters
We're gonna jump in the river, jump in

Bridge
We're falling into deeper waters, calling out to You
We're walking into deeper waters, going after You
And if He goes to the left then we'll go to the left,
And if He goes to the right then we'll go to the right
We're gonna jump-jump, jump-jump in the river,
Jump-jump, jump-jump, everybody.
If He goes to the left then we'll go to the left,
And if He goes to the right then we'll go to the right
We're gonna dance-dance, dance-dance in the river,
Dance-dance, dance-dance, everybody
If He goes to the left then we'll go to the left,
And if He goes to the right then we'll go to the right
We're gonna jump-jump, jump-jump in the river,
Jump-jump, jump-jump everybody.
If He goes to the left then we'll go to the left,
And if He goes to the right then we'll go to the right
We're gonna shout-shout, shout-shout in the river
Shout-shout, shout-shout, yeah!
Refrain (x2)
Deep cries out, deep cries out to you
Deep cries out, deep cries out to you
We cry out, we cry out to You, Jesus

Meaning & Inspiration
“Deep Cries Out” by Bethel Music Kids is an energetic action song built on water imagery. The opening lines claim “a river of living water, a fountain that never will run dry,” and describe an open heaven that cannot be denied. The chorus says the singers are stirring up deep wells and deep waters, then dancing or jumping in the river.
The refrain, “Deep cries out, deep cries out to You,” borrows its wording from Psalm 42:7, while the living water recalls John 7:38. The song is written to be sung with movement. The bridge calls out “If He goes to the left, then we’ll go to the left,” and replaces the action word each round with jump, dance, and shout, so children follow along as they sing.
The tone is playful and communal, and the words keep returning to calling out to Jesus. It works as a simple invitation to join in worship with the whole body.
