Anthony Musembi - Ahadi za Bwana Yesu zitatimia Lyrics

Lyrics

Usilie ndugu, usiangalie nyuma. maana Mungu yu pamoja nawe, anatimza.

Ahadi za Bwana, ahadi za Bwana Yesu, zitatimia aah Ahadi za Bwana, ahadi za Bwana Yesu, zitatimia aah.

Meaning & Inspiration

I’ve been sitting here thinking about that song, and honestly, it hits a nerve because I’m always so quick to assume God has forgotten me the second things get difficult. When Anthony sings that He hasn’t forgotten, it pulls me back to what I know, like how Abraham had to wait forever for Isaac. It’s hard, though. We’re taught that God is faithful, and the lyrics just lean right into that, saying the promises of Jesus will definitely come to pass. It feels grounded in that same assurance Paul wrote about in 2 Corinthians, where he says all of God's promises find their "yes" in Him.

But then I stop and wonder if I’m just using the song to make myself feel better. It’s easy to sing about "ahadi" when life is okay, but when you’re actually in the middle of a mess, does it really hold up? The song tells us not to look back, and that part feels like Lot’s wife, you know? Like we’re constantly tempted to stare at where we came from instead of trusting what’s ahead. It’s a simple message, maybe almost too simple, but if God really is who the Bible says He is—the one who doesn’t lie—then everything else feels like background noise. I keep wondering if I’m actually willing to wait like the song suggests, or if my frustration is just proof that I don't really believe He's going to act. It’s a bit uncomfortable, really, because the music is so hopeful, but my actual life is often so impatient. I suppose that’s the tension—do I believe He’s working when I can’t see a single thing happening?
