Meaning & Inspiration

Blessings On Blessings (The B.O.B. Bounce) is an upbeat praise song that turns gratitude for God's goodness into a dance. The opening calls all blessed people to the dance floor and introduces a line-dance style routine with step, clap and turn instructions, repeated with the claim that a blessing is on the way everywhere the singer looks.

As the song continues it shifts from movement to testimony: the singer says that others can see the blessing and should take any complaint up with God, because He did it. A later section teaches humility, saying that the lower one gets the more God blesses, and that praises go up while blessings come down. The closing lines speak of grace and mercy chasing the singer, wonder at being so blessed, and giving praise where praise is due. The themes fit Psalm 23:6, James 4:10 and James 1:17. Lively, repetitive and communal, the song is built for joyful group worship.
