Meaning & Inspiration
Blessings On Blessings is built around gratitude for the favor and provision of God. Its recurring refrain notices blessing in every direction, while the central verse names goodness, mercy, and the promise that God supplies every need. The repetition gives the song the character of a communal declaration, moving from recognition of grace toward freedom from worry and fear.
Several lines closely echo Scripture. Goodness and mercy following the faithful comes from Psalm 23, and confidence in divine provision reflects the assurance of Philippians 4. The later calls for favor, healing, and Holy Spirit power broaden the focus from material sufficiency to whole-person dependence on God. Although the lyrics speak boldly about the coming year, their strongest grounding lies in God as the source rather than in positive speech itself. The song therefore celebrates abundance as received care and answers anxiety with praise.

- Psalm 23:6 The verse directly echoes goodness and mercy following throughout life.
- Philippians 4:19 The lyric about God supplying every need closely follows this promise.
