Lyrics
I read every story
But I kept my distance and held my suspicions
As I held it in my hands
Didn't understand the meaning
Like it was all blurry
Like your ink was bleeding
But now I can see
That it's living and breathing
You're standing in front of my eyes
Your word's alive
As the fish that swim in the sea
As a bird that's ridin' a breeze through the sky
Through the sky
And it never dies
It'll listen and tell you the truth
Like a friend you could never lose
That's why
I survive cuz Your word's alive
It's alive, it's alive
It's more than just some stories
Filling up pages with blanketed statements
To keep you warm at night
It's the guide that leads to Heaven
It has all the answers to all of your questions
It's living and breathing like hearing you speaking
You're standing in front of my eyes
Your word's alive
As the fish that swim in the sea
As a bird that's ridin' a breeze through the sky
Through the sky
And it never dies
It'll listen and tell you the truth
Like a friend you could never lose
That's why
I survive cuz Your word's alive
It's alive, it's alive
When I'm helpless
I know what to do
My frame of reference
Is your good news
Every sentence
Is something I could use
What connects us
Your word's the proof
Your word's alive
As the fish that swim in the sea
As a bird that's ridin' a breeze through the sky
Through the sky
And it never dies
It'll listen and tell you the truth
Like a friend you could never lose
That's why
I survive cuz Your word's alive
It's alive, it's alive
