Meaning & Inspiration
Fell In Love is a song about grace meeting a person at the edge of ruin. The opening lines place the singer on the edge of a cliff with nothing below but tragedy, at the end of their sins with nowhere to go, until love arrives. The pre-chorus admits that the weight of sin pulls like gravity and that the fall is deserved, and the chorus answers with a hand from the cross and a repeated "fell in love."
The later section turns to gratitude: God has been consistent through everything done and gone through, hears and sees the singer, and is believed to be still in love. The picture of undeserved rescue fits Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:4-5 and Psalm 40:1-2, while the line about being heard echoes Psalm 116:1.
