Lyrics

Nina Imani nitaimba wimbo mpya, wimbo wa washindi, nifikapo kando ya Bahari ya kioo furaha ghaya, Yesu Kristo Mkombozi wetu, atatuimbisha wimbo mpya, atanipa sauti nzuri kushinda hii.

Meaning & Inspiration

Wimbo Mpya draws its imagery from Revelation, picturing redeemed worship beside the glassy sea and before the Lamb on Mount Zion. The anticipated new song belongs to those who have overcome, while angels, harps, thunderous waters, and the twenty-four elders form a scene of heavenly praise. The lyrics look beyond present life toward worship marked by joy, wonder, and the presence of Christ.

Several details closely echo Revelation 14:1-3, including the Lamb, the 144,000, the Father’s name, and a sound like rushing waters and harpists. The reference to patient saints who keep God’s commandments also recalls Revelation 14:12. Together, these images give the song an Adventist hymn-like character and explain its emphasis on perseverance and victory. Rather than offering a general picture of heaven, the song gathers specific biblical symbols into an expectation of faithful believers learning a song associated with redemption.
