Come, let us adore Him
Behold our King! Nothing can compare
Come, let us adore Him!

God eternal humbled to the grave
Jesus, Savior risen now to reign!

Meaning & Inspiration
Behold Our King presents worship through a sequence of questions about God's unmatched wisdom, authority, and creative power. Oceans, sand, nations, and all creation provide the scale for its opening vision. The chorus answers that vision with adoration, portraying God enthroned and beyond comparison. A second group of questions stresses that no counselor can instruct the Lord and no mind can exhaust his works, language that closely follows Isaiah's description of the Creator.
The final verse brings divine majesty together with Christ's humiliation and victory. The eternal God bears the nails and human guilt, enters the grave, and rises to reign. This movement keeps the song's wonder from remaining abstract: the King worthy of worship is also the Savior associated with sacrificial suffering. The closing exchange about an everlasting reign and glory filling the earth widens the focus again to God's universal rule. Throughout the song, questioning is not an expression of doubt but a poetic way of confessing that no one compares with God.
