Meaning & Inspiration
“Ndio” (Live) by Rehema Simfukwe is a Swahili worship song built on one confident question, “Ameamua, nani apinge?” (He has decided, who can oppose?) with the answer “Baba amesema ndio, nani akatae?” (The Father has said yes, who can refuse?). The chorus is repeated many times, which makes it easy for a congregation to answer back.
The verses give reasons for the confidence. The first says God has confirmed that the singer is His child, that there is no doubt about Him, and that His death on the cross finished everything. The second says He will do what He has said, and that they have trusted Him in many matters. This is close to Isaiah 14:27, Romans 8:31, and 2 Corinthians 1:20, which says all God’s promises are “Yes” in Christ.
The outro repeats “Akishasema amesema,” roughly “when He has spoken, He has spoken.” The song’s message is trust in a Father whose word is final.
