Lyrics
Verse 1
I don't have enough words
I'll never live enough lifetimes
To fully know Your worth
To know all that You deserve
All of my deceptions
All of my duplicity
Now there is no record
You assume the best of me
Chorus 1
This is why I thank the Lord for saving me
When I was weak, so I will sing
This is why I thank the Lord for everything
This is why I thank the Lord
Verse 2
All of my affection
Everything I have to give
The sum of my attention
Is measured in the praise I lift
Chorus 2
This is how I thank the Lord for saving me
When I was weak, so I will sing
This is how I thank the Lord for everything
This is how I thank the Lord
Chorus 3
This is how I thank the Lord for saving me
For loving me and keeping me
This is how I thank the Lord for everything
This is how I thank the Lord

Meaning & Inspiration
“This Is How I Thank the Lord” by Mosaic MSC is a song about gratitude expressed in praise. The first verse admits that the singer lacks enough words and could not live enough lifetimes to know God’s worth. It also says that all his deceptions and duplicity are now gone from the record, because God assumes the best of him.
The chorus gives the answer in a simple formula: “This is how I thank the Lord for saving me, for loving me and keeping me, for everything.” The second verse says that all his affection and attention are measured in the praise he lifts. That idea is close to Hebrews 13:15, the sacrifice of praise, and Psalm 103:12 on sins removed.
The bridge repeats “I will sing, I will lift my praises to You,” and the tag repeats the chorus line. The song is a plain thanksgiving.
