“Thank God” by Leanna Crawford looks back at a hard year and finds reasons for gratitude. The first verse recalls a cold spring and a heavy sky, a time when the singer was not herself and found it hard to admit needing help. The next verse brings in her mother’s counsel, “He’s got this, it’s a process, just let Him write your story,” and says the hardest thing she went through became a tattoo.
The chorus gives thanks for the times God said “no,” for the harder road, and for light that broke through when she was lost. Its confidence that second chances come true is close to Romans 8:28, where God works things for good. The later verse adds a daily rhythm, “just one day at a time,” echoing Matthew 6:34.
