Isabel Davis - The Call - Almighty God We Need You Now Lyrics

“The Call - Almighty God We Need You Now” by Isabel Davis is a short, repeated prayer for God’s presence. It opens with the cry “Almighty God, we need you right now,” followed by a request to reveal His glory and pour out His Spirit. That phrasing is close to Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17, where the Spirit is poured out on people.

The chorus repeats “We need you” and asks that His glory fall, and the bridge adds the picture of the glory falling “like rain.” The rain image recalls Hosea 6:3 and Isaiah 44:3, where God’s Spirit is likened to water poured on dry ground. The wording about glory falling also brings to mind 2 Chronicles 7:1, when fire came down and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.

The ending asks for more of His presence, Spirit, love, mercy, and healing, and closes with a call, “Come down, Holy Spirit.” The song is simple and meant to be repeated, as an open-ended prayer of need and welcome.
