Hillsong Worship - How Great Is Our God Lyrics

How Great Is Our God is a short chorus-and-bridge song of praise to the greatness of God. The chorus repeats the question of how great our God is, invites others to sing along and says that all will see how great He is. The bridge calls Him the name above all names, worthy of all praise, with a heart that will sing.

The lines draw on Psalm 145:3 on the greatness of the Lord, Philippians 2:9 on the name above every name, Revelation 5:12 on worthiness, and Isaiah 40:5 on all flesh seeing God's glory together. Because the text is brief and repeated, the song is easy for a congregation to learn and works well as an opening call to worship or a closing declaration. The tone is exalting, simple and open to everyone. The invitation to sing with others gives it a communal flavor, as if it were calling the whole room to look at God together.
