Meaning & Inspiration
Prayer to the King is a short prayer for revival that begins by seeking Jesus under several titles: the Son of God, the Risen Lord, the King of kings and the Savior of the world. The second part gives lives to Him, with lines about choosing to follow, believing and worshiping.
The third part asks for humility and for the fire of God to consume hearts, and the closing lines look to a time when nations bow and kingdoms shake, repeating "We pray for revival." The titles echo Revelation 19:16 and John 4:42, humility before God fits 2 Chronicles 7:14, and nations bowing recalls Philippians 2:10-11.
