Lyrics
You were God from the outset,
Powerful and creative
You had sought us here before
You called all the stars and the earth to existence
You are God, You are Holy
History's Your story
You who was and is and forever will be, God we live for Your glory
So we will run altogether with hearts aflame
Like a fire that can't be tamed
Our God all glory to Your name, Jesus
You are God You are freedom,
You're alive now within us
You who sought us here before
You conquered the grave
You're living on Your promise
So we will run altogether our hearts aflame
With a fire that can't be tamed
Our God all glory to Your name
We will run Our surrender to bring You fame
Our desire that You be praised
Our God all glory to Your name, Jesus!

Meaning & Inspiration
Run presents God as Creator, Lord of history, and the eternal one for whose glory life is meant. The opening lines look back to creation, while the next declaration identifies God’s holiness and rule across past, present, and future. In response, the singers picture themselves running together with hearts aflame, giving all glory to Jesus.
The second half connects that response with freedom, new life, and Christ’s victory over the grave. Running becomes an image of shared devotion rather than hurried activity: surrender, praise, and a desire to make God’s name known guide the movement. The image may recall Hebrews 12:1-2, where believers are called to run with endurance while looking to Jesus. Its language of an untamable fire also fits the sustained zeal described in Romans 12:11. By joining creation, resurrection, surrender, and praise, the song frames Christian life as active allegiance directed toward God’s glory.
