“Yours” is a confession of belonging wholly to Jesus. Its central refrain looks toward Christ’s return while affirming present loyalty: the singer is his own and intends to remain so. Images of melody, standard, and anchor give that commitment several dimensions. Jesus supplies the song, establishes the measure for life, and provides stability when every other place to stand seems uncertain.
The lyric’s language of ownership is closely related to 1 Corinthians 6:19–20, where believers are told that they are not their own because they were bought with a price. Its anticipation of Christ’s coming also fits the call to faithful endurance in the New Testament.
