Meaning & Inspiration
Consider The Stars uses the night sky to move from wonder toward reassurance. The stars are pictured as numerous, brightest in darkness, and fully held by their Creator. Against that immense scale, the repeated command not to be afraid becomes tender rather than abstract. The song acknowledges anguish and darkness while insisting that neither places a person beyond God's care.
Biblical images give that reassurance its shape. Genesis 15 describes uncountable stars as a sign of God's promise, while Matthew 10 connects God's knowledge of creation with the value of Human life. The later image of a star over the Child King points toward the Matthew account of Christ's birth. Together, these threads present creation, promise, and the coming of Christ as reasons for courage.
