Lyrics
Chorus
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there's just something about that name.
Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain;
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all Heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there's something about that name.
Chorus (Repeat)
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there's something about that name.

Meaning & Inspiration
“There’s Something About That Name” by the Gaither Vocal Band is a brief hymn-like song that praises the name of Jesus. It begins by repeating the name three times and says there is just something about it. The next line gives titles, Master and Savior, and compares the name to the fragrance after the rain, an image of freshness and relief.
The lyric then looks wider: let heaven and earth proclaim it. It sets that against the passing of human power, because kings and kingdoms will all pass away, but there is something about that name. The contrast makes the name of Jesus the one thing that lasts.
The idea is close to Philippians 2:9-11, where the name above every name is honored in heaven and on earth, and to Acts 4:12, which says there is salvation in no other name. Song of Solomon 1:3 also uses the image of a name poured out like ointment. The song is short and built around the repeated closing line.
