Meaning & Inspiration
“If We Never Meet Again” faces separation and mortality through the Christian hope of reunion in heaven. Its verses acknowledge the end of life, earthly struggle, and the sorrow of parting without allowing grief to have the final word. The recurring image of a meeting place by the river of life shifts attention from present absence to lasting fellowship in God’s presence.
The river imagery recalls Revelation 22:1–2, where the river of the water of life flows through the holy city.
