Boaz Danken - MWANGALIE SHUJAA Lyrics
Lyrics
Mwangalie shujaa
ametoka mmbinguni
kuja duniani
kuokoa wanadamu
yesu
Amebeba dhambi zote
za ulimwengu
begani mwake
mfalme
alidharau aibu
kaendea msalaba
kwa ujasiri mkuu
Mwangalie shujaa
ametoka mmbinguni
kuja duniani
kuokoa wanadamu
yesu
Amebeba dhambi zote
za ulimwengu
begani mwake
mfalme
alidharau aibu
kaendea msalaba
kwa ujasiri mkuu
nyosha mkono umwambie bwana
nani kama wewe
bwanaa bwanaa
nani kama wewe
bwana wa majeshi
nani kama wewe
bwanaa bwanaa
nani kama wewe
bwana wa majeshi
Mwangalie shujaa
ameshuka kuzimu
kanyanganya ufunguo
wa mauti na kuzimu
yesu
amefuta hati zote
za mashtaka
zilizotuhukumu
mfalme
katufanya makuhani
watoto wa mfalme
tunatawala milele
Mwangalie shujaa
ameshuka kuzimu
kanyanganya ufunguo
wa mauti na kuzimu
yesu
amefuta hati zote
za mashtaka
zilizotuhukumu
mfalme
katufanya makuhani
watoto wa mfalme
tunatawala milele
nani kama wewe
bwanaa bwanaa
nani kama wewe
bwana wa majeshi
nani kama wewe
bwanaa bwanaa
nani kama wewe
bwana wa majeshi
mwanakandoo wa mungu
uliyechinjwa unastahili
ukamnunulia mungu watu wake
kwa damu
na sisi ni kanisa matokeo ya msalaba
twakuabudu
mwanakandoo wa mungu
uliyechinjwa unastahili
ukamnunulia mungu watu wake
kwa damu
na sisi ni kanisa matokeo ya msalaba
twakuabudu
mwanakandoo wa mungu
uliyechinjwa unastahili
ukamnunulia mungu watu wake
kwa damu
na sisi ni kanisa matokeo ya msalaba
twakuabudu

Meaning & Inspiration
I’ve been sitting here thinking about that line where he talks about the Hero taking the keys of death and the grave. It hits hard because it’s not just a song; it’s basically just retelling the middle of the book of Revelation. When I hear him sing about the erased records of our charges—the things that were meant to condemn us—I keep going back to Colossians. It’s wild how clear that is. It really feels like he’s just lifting the weight of the cross right out of the text.
But then, I find myself pausing when it shifts into us ruling forever. I get the "priests and kings" part because that's biblical, but sometimes I wonder if we spend too much time claiming the crown without sitting long enough with the "slaughtered lamb" part. It’s easy to sing about victory, but the song also brings me back to the cost—the blood, the shame He despised, the heavy burden on His shoulders. It doesn't just skim the surface.
There's something in the way he calls Him the "Bwana wa majeshi" that feels like a gut check. It’s not a soft, quiet Jesus. It’s the Commander. When I look at those lyrics, it’s hard to ignore how much it leans on the sheer, brutal work of salvation. I suppose I’m still wrestling with whether I actually live like I believe that He already handled the accusations against me, or if I’m still living like those charges are somehow still hanging over my head. If the records are wiped, then why do I still act so guilty sometimes? The song makes it sound so final, so finished. I hope it’s that simple.
