Our souls wait in silence, in rest and in quiet for Your Spirit
In trust and dependence we walk in this promise of You, comforting

With hope and healing in Your wings
With fire and with wind You fall on us again

Here we are waiting for this house will be shaken, for the boldness to carry Your name to the nations
Your signs and Your wonders to go now before us, for the weight of Your glory to rest as we lift you up
Bridge
We lift You up, we lift You up, we lift You up, we lift You up
We lift You up, we lift You up, we lift You up, we lift You up
We lift You up, we lift You up, we lift You up, we lift You up
We lift You up, we lift You up

Meaning & Inspiration
Walk In The Promise is a prayer for the Spirit to fall and for boldness to carry God's name to the nations. The verse waits in silence, rest and quiet in trust and dependence, walking in the promise of the Comforter. The pre-chorus asks for hope and healing in His wings and for fire and wind to fall again. The chorus waits for the house to be shaken, for boldness, signs and wonders and the weight of His glory, and the bridge repeats "We lift You up."
The imagery follows Acts 2:1-4 on wind and fire, Acts 4:29-31 on boldness and a shaken house, Isaiah 40:31 on waiting, and John 14:16 on the promised Helper. John 12:32 on lifting up Jesus fits the bridge. Waiting, expecting and lifting up form a steady arc for a congregation in prayer.
