Jeremy Riddle + Bethel Music - Glory To Glory Lyrics
Lyrics
Created from dust
You came and You lived among us
You took on our frame, You walked in our pain
And now You're taking us higher
You stepped into time
You laid down Your life to save us
You took all our shame
On the cross it was laid
And now You're taking us higher
We go from glory to glory to glory
We'll never be the same, we'll never be the same
We go from glory to glory to glory
We're forever changed, forever changed
You call me a friend
Brought into Your endless kingdom
By the blood I was made, no longer a slave
And now You're taking us higher
We go from glory to glory to glory
We'll never be the same, we'll never be the same
We go from glory to glory to glory
We're forever changed, forever changed
Until we reach that day
Love conquers everything
We'll cry an anthem singing
Holy, holy
And when we see that day
We're standing face to face
We'll shout an anthem singing
Holy, holy
Until we reach that day
Love conquers everything
We'll cry an anthem singing
Holy, holy
And when we see that day
We're standing face to face
We'll shout an anthem singing
Holy, holy
You took on the grave
So not even death can shake us
The victor has won
And Heaven has come
Now You're taking us higher
And now You're taking us higher
We go from glory to glory to glory
We'll never be the same, never be the same
You take us higher and higher and higher
We're forever changed, we're forever changed
We go from glory to glory to glory
We'll never be the same, never be the same
You take us higher and higher and higher
We're forever changed, we're forever changed
We go from glory to glory to glory
We go from glory to glory to glory
You take us higher and higher and higher
We're forever changed, forever changed
You're lifting us higher
You're lifting us higher
We'll never be the same

Meaning & Inspiration
It’s funny, I’ve been sitting here thinking about that phrase, from glory to glory. It’s right there in 2 Corinthians, isn’t it? Paul talking about how we behold the Lord's face like in a mirror and get changed bit by bit. It makes sense, that movement—dust to divine life. When the song mentions being brought from being a slave to being a friend, it hits that same chord in John 15. I keep turning that over in my head. Are we really just being lifted higher and higher? Sometimes it feels more like I’m stumbling through a desert, not climbing some upward slope of constant glory.
But then I think about the cross, the way the lyrics put it—taking on our frame, walking in our pain. That’s solid. That’s the Incarnation. It’s hard to argue with the idea that we’re forever changed if we actually believe the blood worked the way the writers say it did. If death really doesn't have a hold on us anymore, then the trajectory of a believer’s life shouldn't just be static, right? There has to be some kind of transformation. It’s just... does "glory to glory" mean we’re becoming better versions of ourselves, or does it mean we’re just being emptied out more so He can fill the space? I’m not sure the song clarifies that, or if it even needs to.
The part about standing face to face—that’s the real finish line. It feels right to end on the "Holy, holy" bit, just like Revelation describes. It brings the focus back to Him instead of our own upward motion. I keep wondering if I’m missing the point by looking for the "higher" feeling, or if the "higher" is just knowing Him a little more clearly each day, even when life feels like the exact opposite of glorious. It’s a strange thing to sing about being changed when I feel the same old struggles, but maybe that’s the tension—the "already but not yet" of it all. It makes me question if I’m waiting for a feeling or if I’m just resting in a finished work that’s already been done.
